Welcome.....
The Class 60 Preservation Group was formed in Febuary 2008 by a pair of Class 60 Locomotive enthusiasts, we are here with the aim of eventually securing and preserving at least one member of this popular class of British built locomotive.
With the steady decline of the locomotive type over the past several years, and recently with the news circulating that all members shall shortly be dispensed with, now is certainly the time to set the wheels in motion for this huge project.
Leaving it much later could very well leave it too late, as many of you may well be aware.
In reality it shall be many years before funds for a purchase can be collected, as well as these locomotives being made available for sale. But by joining us, you can help in ensuring that a part of our British Railfreight history is eventually secured for many future generations to come to observe and enjoy. We do hope that you find time to explore our website, and please get in touch should you wish too!
Running alongside us is our sister website, The Class 60 Preservation Group Shop. With all manner of items available, there is something for everyone! You can visit the shop by visiting:
