Brake system Two pipe "PBL" type automatic air and separate straight ( direct )

  air brake on the locomotive only. Brake actuators are direct acting

  SAB type with no brake rigging. One axle on each bogie have

  integral parking break actuators.

Special features Can work in multiple with special multiple working jumper cables

  behind a removable panel.

  Control cubicle has a fault diagnostic panel - also known as a

  "Fault Indication Panel" (F.I.P)

  They have a design speed of 62mph, but the maximum speed is however 60mph.

 

  The fuel range is from 4546 litres, up to 5225 litres for the longer range class members.
